WINNING POSTER AND OFFICIAL COCKTAIL OF COASTAL UNCORKED FOOD, WINE AND SPIRITS FESTIVAL REVEALED

Winning Poster and Cocktail to be Featured Throughout the Festival

November 17, 2011, Myrtle Beach, S.C. – Representatives for Coastal Uncorked Food Wine & Spirits Festival, today announced the “Official Cocktail” of Coastal Uncorked. Christa Brown and Jeffrey Ray, mixologists from the House of Blues, defended their title and won the competition for the second year in a row with the creation of the “Ciroc Gummy Berry Martini.” The People’s Choice Award was given to Lars Decker of Bistro 90 for the creation of the “Bistro Basil and Berrytini.”

The Ciroc Gummy Berry Martini will be the featured cocktail throughout the festival along with wine, beer, and spirits. The “official cocktail” of Coastal Uncorked was determined on November 8 at Revolutions Night Club at Broadway at the Beach in an event hosted by the festival, Myrtle Beach Area Hospitality Association and Ben Arnold Distributing.

Competitors were required to use Ciroc Vodka, the official liquor of the event, and drinks were to be in the form of a martini. All drinks were judged in two categories: “Official Cocktail” and “People’s Choice.” The cocktails were evaluated based on their flavor, use of product, originality and presentation. All Ciroc Vodka was provided by Ben Arnold Distributing.

The winning cocktail recipe is as follows:

Official Cocktail - The Ciroc Gummy Berry Martini is mixed with Ciroc Berry Vodka; Berry Liquor; Simple Syrup; White Cranberry Juice; rimmed with kool-aid and garnished with a Gummy Bear stirrer.

In addition to announcing the winner of the Ciroc mixology challenge, the official 2012 Coastal Uncorked poster was unveiled. Agata Muszynska was named the winning artist. The People’s Choice Award was given to Michael O’Connell. Agata will have her artwork displayed throughout the 2012 festival.

All donations raised from this event will go to the Myrtle Beach Area Hospitality Association Scholarship funds, directed at Culinary Arts and Hospitality Association Educational Programming.

Coastal Uncorked Food, Wine and Spirits Festival is the Myrtle Beach, S.C. area’s premier food, wine and spirits festival.
