About the Festival

How it all began...

In 2009 the festival was created by Heidi Vukov and a dedicated group of volunteers whose vision was to create a food and wine festival that would draw people to our area and showcase what the Grand Strand had to offer.  In the first year more than 4,000 people attended the inaugural festival in May of 2010.

Coastal Uncorked…

The next two years proved the event had staying power more than doubling the attendance from the inaugural year.  Well known chefs Paula Deen and the Lee Brothers were infused into the second year event.  The iron chef competition also grew in size as did the coveted wine, spirits and food tasting events.  Festival goers arrived from more than 20 states and four countries.  As the event progressed Coastal Uncorked added several events through the year to their roster of annual events.  Farm to Table, a dinner on the farm, an oyster roast and a mixology competition all become sold out events to compliment the main festival week.

In December 2012, Myrtle Beach Area Hospitality Association announced the acquisition of Coastal Uncorked Food, Wine & Spirits Festival. Coastal Uncorked will be the signature event brand for the hospitality association and utilized to promote the culinary side of the hospitality industry and the Myrtle Beach area.

2013 moving forward...

June 3-8, 2013 will mark the fourth annual Coastal Uncorked festival and will include the following festival events:  Tasting Trolley, Golf Tournament, specialty wine, spirits and beer dinners, our famed three course pre-fix menu restaurant week, chef competitions, food fight, cooking demonstrations and our signature culinary village and tasting tents complete with live music.
